Since February 4 of this year, 2018, the Police Clearance Certificate will also be included in the list of documents required for the resident visa processing for employees.
The availability of a certificate on criminal records presence or absence (cancelled and uncancelled) will now be an obligatory prerequisite for obtaining a visa permit for employment in the Emirates. The local authorities announced such statement the day before, and the decision of the relevant committee shall enter into force on February 4, 2018.
The certificate must be issued by the controlling authorities of the country of person’s origin or the state, on the territory of which the abovementioned person has been staying for the past five years. The document should further be legalized in the diplomatic missions of the UAE in this state, as well as in the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In order to submit an application, you just need to enter the name and number of the ID card (Emirates ID).
The Police Clearance Certificate of the applicant for an employment visa of the United Arab Emirates will be required only for those, who apply for work, while processing a resident visa for the company’s founder, this requirement does not apply.
This document is also not required for those, who visit the UAE for a tourist visa or a visa of a different category.
This requirement is a part of the UAE government efforts for creating a «more secure and stable society».
